Kids Blowing Bubbles
"Understanding why a kid is challenging
is the first and most important
part of helping them."

Welcome

Kids World: Paediatric Therapy is a private paediatric therapy service located in Lane Cove, Sydney. The practice is owned and directed by Georgina Ahrens, OT.

Our team of occupational therapists, trained by Georgina, is dedicated to supporting neurodivergent children and their families. We work with children who experience differences in relating and communicating, including:

  • Autism

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Regulatory challenges

  • Dyspraxia

  • Developmental differences

Our approach is based on the DIR®/Floortime model, developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan, MD, and Dr. Serena Wieder, PhD. This model emphasises the importance of building meaningful relationships and supporting each child’s individual development. We also have specialised knowledge in understanding how sensory processing and motor development can impact a child’s ability to engage with the world in their unique way.

Our therapists continually expand their knowledge to offer the most up-to-date, affirming care. This includes training in Gestalt language acquisition, the Safe and Sound Protocol, interoception, and the Social Stencil, ensuring that our practice reflects the latest research in child development.

We aim to create a safe and supportive environment that celebrates each child’s strengths and fosters their sense of agency. Our therapists focus on empowering children and families to navigate challenges while honouring their authentic selves.

For more information about our services, please contact our office. We would be happy to discuss your family’s needs and how we can best support your child.

All therapists are providers for all major private health funds and are registered through Medicare to provide services under various programs. We also support clients with NDIS Self-Managed or Plan Managed funding.
