Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) for Neurodivergent Children and Young People
At Kids World Paediatric Therapy, we provide comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments for neurodivergent children and young people up to 20 years of age. Our assessments are designed to understand how a child thinks, feels, communicates, learns, and participates in everyday life — not just what they find challenging, but also what they do well.

Using a strengths-based, neuro-affirming and relationship-focused approach, our Occupational Therapists explore areas such as regulation, sensory processing, executive functioning, communication, social participation, self-care, learning, and independence across home, school and community environments. We recognise that neurodivergent children experience the world in unique ways, and our goal is to translate these differences into clear, functional recommendations that support meaningful participation and wellbeing.

Our FCA reports are tailored for NDIS planning and reviews, and provide practical, evidence-informed recommendations that reflect each child’s developmental profile, support needs, and potential for growth when provided with the right environment and supports.

We work collaboratively with families, educators and other professionals to ensure each assessment captures the whole child — celebrating identity, honouring neurodiversity, and advocating for supports that truly make a difference.
